Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or ground lamb
- 2 tbsp harissa paste (mild, spicy or combo)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 small zucchini or spinach, chopped (for added bulk and nutrients)
Directions:
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté onions and garlic until soft and fragrant (about 3–4 minutes).
- Add ground meat, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned (about 7–10 minutes).
- Stir in harissa paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
- If using veggies (zucchini or spinach), add now and cook until soft.
- Finish with lemon juice and fresh herbs.
Serving Ideas:
- Serve over cauliflower rice, zucchini noodles, or cauliflower mash
- Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt or tahini
- Wrap in lettuce leaves or low-carb flatbread
