Motivation
For years I have written for technology publications as a journalist and for corporate America as a technical writer. However, a creative void exists that can only be filled by writing creatively, not for the sole purpose of making money.
British writer Cyril Connelly reflected the words of my heart when he said, “It is better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”
Publishing Writes exists today to fulfill my own selfish needs. I write for my own edification. Should my stories bless readers across the globe, ones who embrace my passions, I am fulfilled. Should the New York Times Best Seller list never sing my praises, I am fulfilled nonetheless.
My Journey
I have fine tuned my drive and focus. I have the clear goal of self publishing my writings that have accumulated over the years, with no outlet, “collecting dust”.
Getting published by a big-named publishing company poses time-consuming and frustrating challenges. Self publishing online provides a wealth of exposure and offers talented writers an outlet to express themselves.

I believe in mentors and patterning my personal roadmap after successful people. Novelist Patricia Cornwell worked with a forensic scientist before she wrote the first novel in her Dr. Scarpetta series. This inspired me. Why not write about what I know best, although my content is diverse and seemingly unrelated?
My writing career consists of fact-based articles and research. Therefore, I now focus on sharing my life’s obsessions and expertise: Travel, family, food, wine, health and real estate.
